Jean Bice has been a member of the firm and its predecessor since 1976. Upon joining the firm of Patillo, MacKay and McKeever, Ms. Bice was trained as a civil litigator by Pat Patillo, known statewide as “A Lawyer’s Lawyer.” That early training and influence provided a strong base for Ms. Bice’s litigation career. She was board certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar from 1983-2010. Her trial skills were also recognized by invitations to become a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and The American Board of Trial Advocates. She was the inaugural president of the North Central Florida Chapter of ABOTA in 2000. Certified as a County and Circuit Civil Mediator in 1989, Ms. Bice transitioned her practice to full time alternative dispute resolution in 2000. She has been recognized in Law & Politics and Florida Super Lawyer Publications as a leading practitioner in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

As a member of The Florida Bar, Ms. Bice served on the Board of Governors, was president of the Trial Lawyers Section, chair of the Long-Range Planning committee and participated as an instructor in numerous CLE programs. For several years, she was an adjunct instructor at the University of Florida Law School in mediation. Ms. Bice is also a member of the Law Center Advisory Board of Trustees at the Levin College of Law at University of Florida.

Recognized by Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review with an AV rating in 1989, Ms. Bice continues to be honored as a member of the legal community. She is a member of The Florida Bar and the Marion County Bar Association (president 1988-1989).

With a cabin in North Carolina, Ms. Bice spends as many hot Florida days as she can in the cool of the mountains. She also enjoys cooking and politics.
